Far West Initiative

The Far Western hilly districts of Nepal are not only one of the east developed areas in the country, but spiritually dark and least reached areas as well. TEAM’s work in Nepal began in the Far West in the 1960s, when TEAM workers took over the management of a small clinic in Dadeldhura. Over the years, that small clinic expanded to become the regional health care center for the Far West. By providing quality health care in Christ’s name, we share His love to those who need both physical and spiritual care. We are also looking for opportunities to expand into other areas such as agriculture, leadership training, youth ministry, and micro-enterprise. We also look for ways to partner with and equip the local church to establish reproducing indigenous churches.

Ministry Focus:

Community Health and Development: Community Health Education (CHE) is a holistic approach to community based development, addressing physical, spiritual, and social needs. Awareness is raised of needs and opportunities within the community. Then the community itself identifies solutions and begins to work together in an organized way. The community gains hope and vision, and a development process is catalyzed. The key to CHE is the community's willingness to take responsibility for addressing its own problems. If you would like to help transform communities from the inside out, please come join us.

Education: Education is a key to bringing health, healing and justice to Nepal. We seek to train and empower Nepalese teachers to directly impact their community and transform the country of Nepal. Through KISC EQUIP (Kathmandu International Study Centre Education Quality Improvement Programme), we work in Nepali schools and train national teachers. For more information visit KISC EQUIP's website.
